Carat weight measures a diamond's mass, and heavier diamonds generally look larger from above. However, two diamonds of the same carat weight can appear quite different depending on their shape, depth, and cut quality. The viewer helps you compare how 0.5ct, 1ct, 2ct, and larger stones present on the finger.

Ring size is the circumference of the band that fits your finger and is independent of the diamond. Carat weight refers only to the diamond and has no impact on band fit. A 1ct round will look slightly larger on a size 4 finger than on a size 9 finger, which is why visualizing both matters.

Every stone is drawn at its true face-up size in millimeters, from a model fitted to the diamonds in our catalog, on a hand photographed at a known scale. Comparisons between shapes and carat weights are reliable. On your own finger the look still depends on its width, the setting and the light, so check the measured size listed on each diamond's page before you buy.
